#TBT: With three Qualifying sessions complete at the 2015 SCCA National Championship Runoffs at Daytona International Speedway, I was sitting in the second position. I was about 0.2 seconds behind the number one qualifier. Did I have a chance to gain the Pole position? My odds did not look good.
With a drying track during the final Qualifying session for Super Touring Lite, getting Pole did not seem possible. However, I waited patiently until the end of the session for the track to dry to give it a try.
In the end, some drafting help, (in addition to the cool morning air), made it possible to overcome and squeak out enough time to slip into the number one spot. This video captures that wild ride.
