Our friends at Operation Motorsport are celebrating their third anniversary! Check out the video for a special update what they've accomplished over the past three years and what they plan to do, next.
Last weekend, Boehm joined up with the Operation Motorsport team to add racing commentary for the eMotorsport iRacing event at Laguna Seca. Operation Motorsport declared the event a success, with fans tuning in to watch two hours of racing, including a 30-minute open practice, a 10-minute qualifying session, and a 45 lap / 70-minute race. The race can be watched above or on the Operation Motorsport YouTube channel.
Operation Motorsports is a non-profit serving Canadian and American service members. The organization is supported by the SRO America series and is partnered with CrowdStrike Racing. To keep beneficiaries engaged during these difficult times, Operation Motorsports created an eMotorsport league on iRacing. Participants can join as a driver or as a spectator. Click here learn more about their eMotorsport Diversionary Therapy Program.  The June 2020 TC America race at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) has been rescheduled for July 9-12. This event will be the first race to take place since the season was temporarily suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I am very excited to return to the race track with the Crowdstrike Racing/AWS Civic Si in July," Boehm says. "VIR is one of my favorite race tracks. Extremely grateful for all of the hard work TC America, VIR, and the state of Virginia have done to make sure this event can take place safely." During the temporary suspension of the race season, Boehm has been participating in GT Rivals, a sim racing series organized and managed by SRO America, TC America's governing body.  Due to a worldwide pandemic, race cancellations, and rescheduling, there's been a sudden increase in sim racing. Why? Many motorsports organizations, like Indycar and SRO America launched virtual championships during the global stay-at-home time to fill the void.
