SUNNYVALE, Calif. (Aug. 4, 2020) – CrowdStrike Racing is gearing up for its biggest weekend of competition in SRO America – its home event at Sonoma Raceway just north of San Francisco. A new-look way of hosting guests in a virtual environment, exclusive online content and other special features will be part of the CrowdStrike experience from August 7–9.
All this will be available, virtually, to CrowdStrike and AWS staff, guests, supporters, fans and executive conference attendees throughout the GT World Challenge America Sonoma 2020 Powered by AWS and Sponsored by CrowdStrike. It’s the most advanced experiential program by CrowdStrike at any motorsports event since it became active in SRO America in 2017.
“This is the most unique weekend for CrowdStrike that we have ever had,” said CrowdStrike CEO and co-founder George Kurtz, who also drives for CrowdStrike Racing in the premier GT World Challenge series. “Shortly after the COVID-19 pandemic forced a break in our racing, we quickly began planning how best we can educate and entertain our clients and supporters in new and interactive ways. ALTON, Va. (July 13, 2020) – CrowdStrike Racing celebrated its return to SRO America competition in the best way possible: its first victory in GT World Challenge Powered by AWS.
George Kurtz and Colin Braun claimed a win in Sunday’s 90-minute, two-driver endurance race at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) – the first victory for CrowdStrike with Mercedes-AMG in SRO America’s highest category of racing. Not only did they claim victory in the Pro/Am class, they were overall winners as well against top-level competition.
The result capped a fantastic return to racing for CrowdStrike – a competitor in three SRO America categories and the Official Internet & Cloud Security Provider for GT World Challenge.

SUNNYVALE, Calif. (July 7, 2020) – Following the industry-wide pause in its racing schedule due to the COVID-19 pandemic, CrowdStrike Racing returns to competition this week as SRO America and GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. It will be the second of six events on the season with CrowdStrike reaffirming its full-season commitment as an entrant and official sponsor of GT World Challenge.
Virginia International Raceway (VIR) is the site of the program’s first motorsports event in more than four months. The SRO weekend will take place with CrowdStrike Racing and all series participants supporting and adhering to strict local, state and federal guidelines on medical screening, social distancing and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
The CrowdStrike Racing effort returns to VIR in force with a trio of race cars in two different SRO America series and three classes. Hopes are high following a stellar opening to the 2020 season at Circuit of The Americas in Austin during early March, when CrowdStrike Racing claimed three podium finishes to start the year.
Boehm joined up with the Operation Motorsport team to add racing commentary for the eMotorsport iRacing event at virtual Daytona International Speedway. The event featured a 30-minute open practice, a 10-minute qualifying session, and a 30 lap / 70-minute race. The race can be watched above or on the Operation Motorsports YouTube channel.

Last weekend, Boehm joined up with the Operation Motorsport team to add racing commentary for the eMotorsport iRacing event at Laguna Seca. Operation Motorsport declared the event a success, with fans tuning in to watch two hours of racing, including a 30-minute open practice, a 10-minute qualifying session, and a 45 lap / 70-minute race. The race can be watched above or on the Operation Motorsport YouTube channel.
Operation Motorsports is a non-profit serving Canadian and American service members. The organization is supported by the SRO America series and is partnered with CrowdStrike Racing. The June 2020 TC America race at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) has been rescheduled for July 9-12. This event will be the first race to take place since the season was temporarily suspended in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
"I am very excited to return to the race track with the Crowdstrike Racing/AWS Civic Si in July," Boehm says. "VIR is one of my favorite race tracks. Extremely grateful for all of the hard work TC America, VIR, and the state of Virginia have done to make sure this event can take place safely."
During the temporary suspension of the race season, Boehm has been participating in GT Rivals, a sim racing series organized and managed by SRO America, TC America's governing body.
Due to a worldwide pandemic, race cancellations, and rescheduling, there's been a sudden increase in sim racing. Why? Many motorsports organizations, like Indycar and SRO America launched virtual championships during the global stay-at-home time to fill the void.

GT Rivals season one comes to an end at the virtual Kyalami Grand Prix Circuit in South Africa.
Kyalami is a 4.522km circuit featuring sixteen corners and a challenging blend of wide, fast sections and tight, technical corners.
Of Boehm, the series says "CrowdStrike Racing’s Kevin Boehm continues to be a front runner in the Mercedes-AMG GT3. With several podium and Top 5 performances, Boehm is a threat for the overall win."
This race is the eighth and final round of the inaugural GT Rivals Assetto Corsa Competizione esports season.

As expected, GT Rivals virtual Bathurst was a wild ride for all. Boehm qualified in P2 with the CrowdStrike Racing AMG GT3 and survived the first lap shuffle. After spending more than 40-minutes in third place, Boehm clipped the wall leading into the Esses, which forced a spin and placed him in fourth place with only 10-minutes left to go in the event.
"Finishing fourth is a great result for such a challenging track," Boehm says. "Now it is time to focus on the next and final GT Rivals event at Kyalami."

Mount Panorama is one of the most unique circuits in the world and this virtual track will be the biggest challenge of the inaugural GT Rivals esports invitational series.
During last week's race at Barcelona, Boehm held off Heitkotter, winner of five of the six GT Rival events, for half of the Barcelona contest, before getting clipped by a lapped car, taking him out of contention. This week, Boehm looks to contend for the podium again.

Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host Round 6 of the GT Rivals Esports Invitational on Assetto Corsa Competizione. Boehm is representing the CrowdStrike Racing team in the no. 90 AMG GT3.

The SRO America esports series travels from the Belgian countryside to Japan and the home of the Intercontinental GT Challenge powered by Pirelli Suzuka 10 Hour - the Suzuka Circuit. The course features a rare figure-eight style design with 18-turns across its 3.609-mile circuit.
After an unfortunate mid-race internet failure at Spa Francorchamps that caused him to lose a podium position, Boehm is looking to come in strong at this event.
Round 5 of GT Rivals takes place on May 10th at 3PM ET.

This week, GT Rivals heads to virtual Belgium to host Round 4 at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. Spa is a 19-turn, 4.32-mile circuit with a storied history and a famous combination of corners - Eau Rouge and Raidillon.
With two runner-up finishes in a row, Boehm will look to continue his podium streak driving the CrowdStrike Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3.

This past weekend, racers headed to virtual Misano World Circuit for Round 2 of SRO America's GT Rivals Series. The virtual Misano features a 2.53-mile, 16-turn circuit.
Sim racer Josh Staffin took victory in a No. 230 Audi R8 LMS GT3 Evo. Boehm took a second place finish in the CrowdStrike Racing/AWS No. 90 Mercedes-AMG GT3 .
Three of the top-four finishers were sim racers--Boehm was the only real-world racer and the only TC America driver to take the podium.
Round 3 of GT Rivals takes place at virtual Paul Ricard on April 26th at 3 pm ET.

The 2020 TC America season has been put on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Fortunately, SRO Motorsports America has put together an esport league: GT Rivals. It is a weekly esports invitational where real world racers, sim racers, and invited guests go head-to-head in GT World Challenge powered by AWS’ official game--Assetto Corsa Competizione.
For this series, Kevin is driving the CrowdStrike Racing/AWS AMG GT3 race car. There are eight events total. Events will include a 120-minute open practice, 20-minute qualifying, and 60-minute sprint race, streamed live every Sunday at 3pm ET beginning April 12th through May 31.
