Big News: We finished the 2024 GT4 America season in second place for the Silver Class Championship10/26/2024 Recap: GT4 America at Indianapolis Motor Speedway We headed into the final round of the GT4 America season at the iconic Indianapolis Motor Speedway with our sights set on the Silver Class Championship. The first race proved to be a challenging one, as the cold weather conditions put the BMWs at a disadvantage. Despite the circumstances, we made the most of it, emerging as the fastest BMW on track and keeping our championship rivals within striking distance throughout the race. While a pass seemed unlikely, we maintained our position close enough to keep our competitor honest. Ultimately, this strategy paid off as our rival made a mistake, allowing us to capitalize and secure a crucial pass. Kenton Koch and I piloted the #97 BMW M4 GT4 to a well-deserved second-place finish, narrowing the championship gap to a mere two points.
With the championship hanging by a thread, we entered the second race with high hopes. Starting ahead of our rival, we initially pulled away and seemed to be in control. However, a yellow flag midway through the race bunched up the field. We executed a flawless pit stop and emerged as the effective leader. Unfortunately, our momentum was short-lived as contact with another car forced us to retire with a broken suspension. While the outcome wasn't what we had hoped for, we can reflect on an incredible season filled with numerous achievements. Our focus now shifts to climbing another position in the final standings next year. |
