We had an incredible weekend at Sebring! We're still buzzing with excitement after securing back-to-back wins in the Silver Class and overall victories in both races. The entire team delivered a phenomenal performance, and I couldn't be prouder of what we accomplished. This weekend proved that success in racing hinges on being prepared when opportunity arises. While we can't control when those opportunities appear, we can certainly control how ready we are to seize them. At COTA, we experienced some good fortune, but we weren't as prepared as we could have been due to a last-minute chassis swap and other challenges. We learned from that experience. This time, we ensured all the necessary groundwork was laid, which allowed us to fully capitalize on every chance we got. These Sebring wins weren't solely about the races themselves; they were the result of meticulous preparation beforehand that enabled us to make the most of every opportunity.
We're thrilled to have secured these wins while proudly representing our sponsors and partners: CrowdStrike, AWS, Red Line Oil, BMW, and Operation MotorSports, as well as Random Vandals Racing. After this weekend's success, Kenton and I have moved back into the lead in the Pirelli GT4 America point standings. You'll find a race recap and links to the footage below. Our next GT4 America event is at Virginia International Raceway (VIR) from July 18-20, 2025. -- Sebring Race Recap Although we showed plenty of speed in the practice sessions, the event did not go without some struggles behind the scenes. Our AC compressor exploded in the final practice session, cutting the session short and leaving questions in everyone’s mind if we should use the AC system in the races. However, with the 95+ degree ambient temperatures and the resulting 120+ degree temperatures in the car, we didn’t have much choice. Fortunately, the Random Vandals crew felt confident they found the root cause so we felt it was safe to use it. Race 1 Highlights: I started the No. 97 CrowdStrike / AWS BMW M4 GT4 (G82) EVO in sixth place overall, the fastest of the BMWs, and managed to move up to third place early on. I made up one more key position in the last turn on my way to pit lane, putting Kenton in position to take over the lead on his out lap when the leader made a mistake and went off track in turn 7. He ultimately controlled the race from there, winning by 12.378 seconds. GT4 America Race 1 Broadcast Race 2 Highlights: Kenton had a strong start from P11 overall, moving through the field, and made it all the way to P4 overall, P2 in class, before the pit stops began. There, we executed a perfect stop and jumped to the lead in Silver class in pit lane. After a brief yellow flag period, I restarted third behind the top two Pro-Am class runners but quickly moved into second overall a few laps before I patiently took the overall lead. I brought the No. 97 BMW home to the win by 4.882 seconds. GT4 America Race 2 Broadcast GT4 America Race 2 Broadcast |
