A Strong GT4 America Weekend at Barber Motorsports Park

We're excited to share an update from our GT4 America weekend at Barber Motorsports Park! The Random Vandals Racing team put in an incredible performance, securing a second-place finish in Race 1 and a dominant victory in Race 2.

Most importantly, our results have significantly closed the gap in the Silver class championship. We've narrowed the points difference to just 5 points, which means the title race is still wide open heading into the final event at Indy Motor Speedway. With two more races to go, we're determined to give it our all and bring home the championship.

Race 1 Recap

• Despite starting from the back of the field, Kevin Boehm delivered a fantastic performance, gaining several positions to catch the second and third-placed cars in his class. Unfortunately, a yellow flag interrupted the race just as Kevin was about to make his move.
• The team's pit stop was executed flawlessly, elevating Kevin from fifth to fourth overall and in class. His co-driver, Kenton Koch, taking over the wheel, carefully assessed the competition during the first half of his stint. A series of passes then shuffled the order, placing Kenton in second position. Despite setting the fastest lap of the race while chasing the leader, Kenton ultimately ran out of time and finished in second place.

Race 2 Recap

• The second race was more eventful, featuring a lengthy full-course caution period caused by a massive first-lap incident that lasted throughout the first half of the race. To further complicate matters, the pit lane opened half a lap earlier than usual, allowing some of the slower cars to pit early. This meant that, despite Kenton leading the race overall before the pit stop, we would have to pass all the cars that had pitted first.
• After Kevin took the wheel, he exited pit lane as quickly as possible to try and catch the back of the field that had the opportunity to pit early. This strategy paid off, as Kevin was the only driver to successfully rejoin the field before the race resumed. Restarting in ninth position overall, Kevin had a significant challenge ahead. 
• As in Race 1, Kevin methodically worked his way through the field, one car at a time. With 20 minutes remaining in the race, Kevin took the lead in the Silver class. A brief yellow flag period briefly compressed the field, but Kevin maintained control of the race and crossed the finish line in first place, nearly 10 seconds ahead of the next competitor. Meanwhile, penalties imposed on the other championship leaders for avoidable contact helped us maximize our points gain for the event.
